Game „Mommy carry me, please”
What you need: 2 big dices, rugs ( they can be displaced by sheets of
paper or sashes (scarves) shaped into circles) - number of rugs depends
on the length of the route we want to create, sashes for all children,
in two colours (two teams), two chairs, pairs of toy animals ( a mother
and a child) - the mothers - stuffed animals, the children - the toy
animals made by children.
How to organize: children wearing sashes in two teams are sitting on two
sides of the classroom, rugs located on the floor in parallel with each
other (one route for each team, but with one route it will also be fun),
at the end of the routes located chairs and on those chairs "the mother
stuffed animals".
Course: Choose two children from aech team. One of them tosses a dice,
the other child holding „a child toy animal” walks through the rugs
route the number of steps according to the number on the dice, counting
loudly in English. When the child reaches the last rug and meets "the
mommy" has to say loudly „Mommy carry me, please” and gives a hug to the
toy animals.
Remarks: The winner is the team whose member reached "the mommy" as the
first one. The game is really nice. Children liked it a lot. Pupils
revise counting in English, phrases „Mommy ... ", the names of
animals.. Next week I'm going to invite parents - I will write about
response.
